Lithuanian Association of Cinematographers (LAC) invites to submit films to the competition “Oak 2017”. The awards Ąžuolas and Gilė are awarded for the best work of a cinematographer and the best work of a young cinematographer in Lithuanian cinema in 2016.
Lithuanian full-length and short feature and documentary films, the official premiere of which took place in 2016, can participate in the competition. Only one work filmed by the same operator can be submitted for the competition. Students’ educational or final works created during their studies or while studying according to the study program are eligible for the Gilė Award.
The aim of the award is to encourage the creativity and talent of cinematographers, to raise the prestige of this one of the main film professions.
The competition takes place in two stages. In the first stage, a jury of five members will select and announce three nominees for the Oak and Acorn Awards from the submitted films. In the second, the jury will select the winners, which will be announced at the awards ceremony on May 29. We invite you to submit films for the “Oak” and “Acorns” competition and please submit an application by 2017. April 15
